Dr. Derviş Eroğlu
Head of Government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus
A new way of approaching the situation in Cyprus is also linked to the visions of the Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Derviş Eroğlu, elected on 19 April 2009. The Representative Office of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cypurs in Werl corresponds in the following way to the convictions of the new Head of government and his ministers: the insight of the international community may stretch as far as to allocate the required recognition as an independent state under international law to the northern part of Cyprus – the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. This is conducive to lasting peace and ultimately provides the chance for a solution to the situation for all concerned.
The visions of the Representative Office of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus are aimed at mitigating and eventually resolving the existing conflicts. On the one hand, this would help to make the Turkish population in Northern Cyprus more prosperous. On the other hand, the people of Germany and the international community would open up the border between East and West to other valuable prospects in an agricultural paradise.

I would like to Reiterate, once again, that the turkish Cypriot side is ready for a Settlement in Cyprus, in line with the established un parameters and body of work, which would not bring back the bitter Experiences of the past. Absolute application of Bizonality, political equality of the two peoples, the equal status of the two founding states and turkey's effective and factual guarantee will constitute the parameters for a solution to the cyprus issue.
